Analog camera systems generally have a lower initial total cost of ownership or TCO than any other system type, so long as you plan on installing under 8 cameras. The cameras are also generally cheaper than their digital counterparts. They are good for environments were basic low resolution surveillance is acceptable. They are also generally better suited for after the fact or retroactive review, don't expect an alert on you cell phone if someone is walking around when they are not suppose to be, but when couple with a intrusion detection or basic security system the two can make a powerful pair.
Lower Initial Cost - Unless your building is wired for data networks or you need more than 8 cameras than the cost of an analog system will be lower, unless you factor in upgrading your feature set every few years, that will require scraping your old DVR for a new one.
Fluid Remote View - Analog manufacturers are quick to add new technology so their DVRs don't become obsolete so fast, so because the digital based NVRs have not yet switched there software based systems over to H.264 analog will offer you the smoothest remote view capabilities available, especially since analog cameras have much less resolutions to send over the net.
Native Compatibility - Most cameras in existence today are analog and while analog cameras can be used with a digital based IP camera system it requires the use of expensive media converters. Analog DVRs accept any analog CCTV camera without the use of specialized adapters.

Hi Dan, thanks for this. I wanted to let you know that the alarm system you installed there has already shown its value to us - twice. The first time was about a week ago early one morning when a bunch of kids gathered behind the building to smoke pot. They must have leaned against the door and set the alarm off. I got the call and called my handyman, who was just pulling up in front and saw the kids running from the back as the siren blared from inside.
The second time was this morning at 4:30 am. My cell phone rang, I picked it up and it was the burglar alarm. I pressed the button and said, "New Haven Security, identify yourself immediately." When they didn't, I called the police. They arrested a crack head in the process of trying to break in the back door with a crow bar. If I were thinking clearly, I wouldn't have bothered asking for identification - it was 4:30 in the morning. No contractor I know starts that early. :o)
Two weeks ago, the cameras at Poplar St caught one of my tenant's visitors with about 10 crack bags in his hand. She was served yesterday and the marshall will be there at 7:00 am on Monday to move her out if she's not out already this weekend.
We can personally attest to the value of your systems, as well as your professionalism and skill in installing them. Thank you so much! If we can ever be of assistance to you for recommendations, please do not hesitate to give our email address out.
